It’s time to find the joy in life! Have you recently found that your stress levels are at an all-time high? The reality is, that this is the case for most people in society right now. Sadly, this means we’re not living our lives in the moment.

Multiple factors are causing our stress levels to soar. We not only live life at a much more rapid pace but the ability to easily acquire information is fueling our minds to work faster and thus stress us out further. You may have also noticed that we’re constantly driving towards better everything, more competition and winning, which again, does not work in favour of our stress levels. Ultimately, there is now too much choice. Lines are longer, there’s more traffic on the roads and the choice of any type of product is endless. We’re overstimulating our lives which is leading to poor mental health and many people find themselves burning out.

Discovering Joy

Regardless of how stressed we may feel, it’s important to remember that everyone has one thing in common. Despite our age, gender, marital status, religion or nationality, we desire to just be happy. 63% of adults across the world have stated they’re currently happy, but what about the other 37%? One thing that is vital to remember, is that you only get one life, so live it to the best of your ability and you can’t go wrong. Life doesn’t last forever.

We may not be able to stop the rapid pace of life around us, but we can slow down ourselves. Learn to relax, slow down and control your pace. Below are a few strategies to try and find joy in your life:

  1. Think deeply about why you are always in a rush? Is it worth the way it makes you feel? Is it for someone else?
  2. Remember, you can’t do it all! Prioritise the most important things to you.
  3. Keep in mind that happiness is a feeling, not an address or a bank balance.
  4. Happiness, success and peace are all inside attitudes and philosophies rather than outside issues.

So, we’re not suggesting you let life pass you by, but we’re suggesting that it may be worth trading out things in your life that currently send your stress levels sky-high and start to find the joy in life at a slower pace, one day at a time.
